If a resource is owned in print by any ASU library, you may place a request through the library catalog. You must be signed in to your library account in order to view the available request options.
Request: Request an available item to be delivered to any ASU library for pickup.
Request from an external library: Place an Interlibrary Loan request for items which are not available.
Request a scan of a chapter: Request a scan of a chapter, article, or page range from a print resource. Please provide as much information as possible, including volume and issue numbers if applicable. Scan requests will be filled subject to copyright compliance.
Scanned documents and pickup notices will be sent via email.
If a resource you need is not available through ASU, we can obtain the material from another library via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). ASU College of Law students, staff, and faculty can request materials using the Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
Questions? Please contact the Law ILL Dept. at (480) 965-6144 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Tips for Interlibrary Loan requests:
Plan ahead and place your ILL requests as early as possible. If you do not need the entire book, request only the necessary pages. It can sometimes take up to 2 weeks for a requested book to arrive, whereas scanned pages are usually received electronically within 1-5 days. If the total number of pages requested exceeds what is allowed under copyright restrictions, a request for the book will be placed instead.
Please provide as much information as possible on the request form in order to speed the processing of your request and ensure you receive the correct material. If you do not have a complete citation, check with a law librarian for assistance in completing the citation before requesting an ILL.
Scanned documents and pickup notices will be sent via email. Due dates for ILL books are determined by the lending library and vary, so be sure to pick up the books promptly in order to maximize the amount of time the material is available to you.
We will make every attempt to obtain all requested items. However, the following types of materials can be difficult to obtain through ILL:
- Recently published books
- Entire issues of journals
- Newspaper articles from print
- Entire volumes of titles published in loose-leaf format
- Single volumes of multi-volume sets
- AV materials
- Rare books or original manuscripts
The Law Library's Interlibrary Loan Service is available only to College of Law students, faculty, and staff. ASU students may use the interlibrary loan services offered through ASU Libraries.
